Acting on behalf of the wishes of former members, the PBA has taken custodial ownership over Beacon Baptist Church’s former property at 13343 Fivay Rd, Hudson, FL 34667.
Former church members placed a reverter clause in their deed several years ago so that if someone attempted to take the church away from Southern Baptist teaching, the PBA could receive the property and work toward placing a Southern Baptist church back into the property. We have acted on their wishes. The church had been abandoned since February of 2023 and there was concern that it would be sold. We stepped in to attempt to keep the church as an SBC congregation. Stepping in required us to file a lawsuit to enact the reverter clause. We believe we became the owners, based on the reverter, back in February/March when the church was deemed to no longer be operating as an SBC church.
Since February, we have worked both through legal representation as well as private and direct contact with existing Beacon leaders to find a resolution. Recently, we were able to settle all outstanding legal matters and retain ownership of the property within SBC hands. The PBA's goal remains to simply place a Southern Baptist church back into the property and continue to honor Christ through the preaching and teaching of the word of God.
With that in mind, today we are announcing a “REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS”.
We want to hear from all constituents about how you would like to see the property utilized.
Specifically, we want to have an open process where every church has an opportunity to present the PBA Leadership Team with proposals for how they may use the property if the PBA were to grant them the opportunity.
After reviewing all proposals, we will bring a final proposal before the Executive Board in January for questions and potential affirmation.
Please see the attached PDF and if you have any questions, email info@letsgopasco.com or talk with any of our Leadership Team members. Our office line is 813-252-0699.

** This post was edited to provide a more clear picture of events for those who may not have been aware of this ongoing legal issue. In our initial post, we were attempting to simply focus on the future but for some, it was confusing why we were involved in taking custodial ownership at all. We hope this clarifies our involvement. If anyone has any further questions, we are available to reach through info@letsgopasco.com **
